Originally built as a family holiday home, our house ByTheSea has been a favorite summer destination for us and many of our friends. Over the years, we have found ourselves returning here more and more often, at different times of year, to recharge in the privacy of its setting and to explore the island of Paros throughout the seasons.Having enjoyed all possible vacation periods here, in 2010, after installing fast wi-fi, we decided to move into our island house, to experience Cycladic living, year-round. For two years, our children went to local schools, we ate fresh products and fish from the sea, walked the countryside, grew olives and vegetables and played music and games in the winter by the fireplace.

This is not a typical “summer holiday villa”… It’s a real home, to make you feel at home.Of course, it does offer some amazing benefits…

Finally completed recently, the house was built out of local dune-color stone, blending harmoniously with its natural surroundings. 50-centimeters-thick solid-stone walls ensure thermal comfort throughout the year: the house is kept cool during summer and warm until early winter.

Interiors are finished with a mixture of exposed stone and white plaster, in the vernacular architectural style of Paros. Pine floors and chestnut ceilings in all the main spaces, marble floors light-blue-colored cement screed walls in all the bathrooms and white marble countertops complete the palette of finishing materials.

Interiors have been decorated with great care, combining comfort with unique character, through the use of custom-made furniture, hand-made objects and carefully restored antique pieces.Spacious terraces all around the house, paved with local stone, open out onto different views of the garden and beyond. A built-in barbeque is set on the west terrace, under a bamboo canopy and the shade of a large mulberry tree. A look-out point on the southeastern tip of the property offers 300-degree breathtaking views to the Aegean blue.
